It's really the most enjoyable part of the game for me. I can think of all sorts of criticisms for Kenshi in other sorts of gameplay activities, but "exploration" or "experiencing the setting" isn't one of them. :)Īs far as environments go and things to look at or experience, there isn't any region that isn't worth going to. The various sorts of environmental effects can keep things lively, too. And, this is despite the somewhat clunky'ish engine that forces some limitations in other gameplay mechanics. It's very strong in that department and as far as environments go, it's very immersive - The different biomes and spawns for them really do support the theme and setting extremely well. The environments are very well done and there's always something interesting on the other side of the hill. But there just seems like a lot of places that aren't worth the effort because all they have is either nothing or just rubble.Īctually, Kenshi is very strong in the "Walking Simulator" genre as far as "exploring" goes. Maybe a very simplified selection of -, -, ~, +, ++ for some key components like farming, water, iron, copper, stone is possible? I don't know, I've yet to venture outside of the desert.Originally posted by Excelsior. Looking in this list of biome settings in the fcs though, it seems perhaps there are to many things to really list properly. brown.? It means nothing without a key/index explaining what these colors mean. I can figure out that the yellow desert is probably dry and doesn't have much water, but everything else. it's still just a bunch of colors that mean nothing to me. which is great, I see each of those have multiple settings.īut in relation to the map. I dont really need to fight unless necessary. But it just seems there are a lot of ruins that dont have anything and I want to know which ones I should avoid. And I am going to all the marked ruins areas for research books and ai cores. If you can deal with creatures, well, go south to the Grid n Crater. Basically I load a complete kenshi map in my browser, with all the points of interest on it. Then, you can go south swamps deeper to another ruins. Okay, so I went in there and looked and it's got stuff like "Coast, Coast wealthy, fertile holy, rich arid" etc. This places name sounds like a book storage I believe.
